About

Hosted by Climate Now, in partnership with Rice University, METRO, and the City of Houston and sponsored by the Department of Energy, this hybrid event featured a series of listening sessions, intimate workshops, and discussions designed to inform and engage local stakeholders (including community, industry, government, academia, developers, researchers, and regulators) on the topic of carbon management, with a focus on carbon capture and storage in the Greater Houston Area. The goal was to identify key challenges and potential solutions around the impact of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in climate change, environmental justice, and the energy transition, in order to inform a community workshop to be held in collaboration with local community groups and stakeholders in Spring 2024.
